Cookie Policy

What this website stores on your device, and how to change your choice

Effective date: 1 September 2026 Last updated: 5 October 2026 Version: 1.2

1. About this policy

This policy explains what Procursea Ltd (“Procursea”, “we”, “us”) stores on your device when you visit procursea.com, why we store it, and how you can control it. It sits alongside our Privacy Policy, which explains how we handle personal data more generally.

Cookies in the UK are governed by the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations (PECR), with the UK GDPR setting the standard for consent where consent is required.

2. What cookies are

A cookie is a small text file a website asks your browser to store. Related technologies — local storage and session storage — work the same way from your point of view: they keep a small amount of information in your browser between page loads. PECR treats them the same, and so does this policy. Where we say “cookie” below, we mean both.

3. Cookies we use

Procursea sets no advertising, analytics or tracking cookies. There is no Google Analytics, no advertising pixel and no cross-site profiling on this website. The table below lists everything this site stores on your device — nothing else is set.

Name Provider Purpose Category Expiry
cf_clearance Cloudflare (first-party) Security and bot protection for procursea.com. Strictly necessary 365 days; HttpOnly, Secure, SameSite=None
pc-appearance Procursea (browser storage) Remembers your light/dark choice. Written only when you use the appearance control. Strictly necessary Until you clear it
pc-consent Procursea (browser storage) Records the choice you made about cookies on this page. Strictly necessary Until you clear it
cf_turnstile / __cf_bm Cloudflare (contact form) Confirms the contact form is being used by a person, not a bot. Set only on the contact page when the check runs. Strictly necessary Up to 30 minutes
YouTube player storage YouTube / Google (third-party) Plays the crew training video. Nothing is requested from YouTube until you press play; the privacy-enhanced player (youtube-nocookie.com) then stores playback data in your browser. Set only when you press play Per YouTube
appetize_client_id Appetize (third-party) Runs the interactive demo of the Procursea iOS app. Set only if you choose to load it. Consent required 365 days; HttpOnly, Secure, SameSite=None

When you load the interactive demo, the Appetize player also contacts its own error-reporting service (Sentry) from within its frame.

The training video on the homepage is shown as a still image hosted by Procursea. YouTube is contacted only when you press play, and then through its privacy-enhanced player. Pressing play is your choice to load it; if you never press it, nothing is requested from YouTube or Google.

The contact form uses Cloudflare Turnstile to tell people from bots without a puzzle. It runs only on the contact page and may set a short-lived cookie while it does; this is necessary to accept your message securely, so no consent is sought for it.

4. Which of these need your consent

Only one: appetize_client_id, the third-party cookie set by the interactive demo. We ask for your consent before it is set, and if you have not given it — or you have declined — the demo is not loaded and no request is made to Appetize at all.

The other three are exempt from the consent requirement because they are strictly necessary to provide a service you have asked for, which is the exemption in regulation 6(4) of PECR:

cf_clearance is set by Cloudflare, which protects this site from automated abuse. Without it we cannot serve the site securely. pc-appearance is written only at the moment you choose light or dark mode using the control in the navigation — it records the choice you just made and nothing else. pc-consent records your answer to the cookie banner, so that we can honour it and stop asking. None of the three is used to track you, build a profile, or share anything with anyone.

5. Changing your mind

You can change your choice at any time using the control below. Changing it to declined stops anything further being requested from Appetize.

Your current choice: Loading…

One limitation worth stating plainly: appetize_client_id is stored by appetize.io, not by us, and no website can delete a cookie belonging to another site. Declining prevents it being set again; a cookie already stored expires on Appetize’s own schedule, and you can remove it through your browser’s settings at any time.

6. Managing cookies in your browser

You can also block or delete cookies in your browser’s settings, independently of the control above. Every major browser lets you clear existing cookies and site data, block third-party cookies, or block cookies from a specific site. The exact steps live in your browser’s own help pages, under “cookies” or “site data”.

Blocking cookies from this site will not stop you reading it. If you block storage entirely, the cookie banner will reappear on each visit — because the record of your answer is itself something we would need to store — and the interactive demo will not load, since we treat “no stored consent” as “no consent”.

7. Third parties

The interactive demo is hosted by Appetize, which streams a real Procursea iOS app into a frame on our page. When you choose to load it, Appetize sets appetize_client_id on its own domain and, from inside that frame, contacts its error-reporting provider (Sentry) so it can detect faults in the streaming service. These are Appetize’s systems, operating under Appetize’s own privacy terms, and the data involved is technical information about the streaming session rather than anything you have given us.

No other third party sets anything on this website. Links to external sites are ordinary links: following one takes you to a site with its own cookie practices, which this policy does not cover.

8. How long these last

Expiry periods are listed in the table above. cf_clearance and appetize_client_id are set for up to 365 days by their respective providers. pc-appearance and pc-consent are held in your browser’s local storage and remain until you clear your browsing data or change the setting. We do not copy any of these into our own records.

9. Changes to this policy

If we add anything that stores information on your device, we will update this page and the cookie banner before it is used, and where consent is required we will ask again. The “last updated” date at the top of this page reflects the most recent change.

10. Contact and complaints
